Making the complicated simple

Style guide

A consistent style helps the user

In addition to layout and navigation, consistency in writing style is important.
We normally use our house style to produce a coherent website look.

The general style guidelines that we follow wherever possible and appropriate:

  • Informative titles and headings
  • Active voice
  • No unnecessary words, phrases or content
  • Technical, legal, and financial jargon changed to everyday language
  • Capital letters used for a specific purpose
  • Standard UK English, standard Australian English as appropriate
